Marie-Andree Vermette
Marie-Andrée is a partner at WeirFoulds LLP and the chair of the firm’s Commercial Litigation Practice Group. She specializes in complex litigation cases, including high-profile commercial disputes, class actions and public law cases. Her skills and reputation as an innovative litigator have resulted in her repeated recognition as a leading practitioner in commercial litigation and in public law litigation. She is called to the bar in both Quebec and Ontario. Marie-Andrée is a director of The Advocates’ Society, the Association des juristes d’expression française de l’Ontario, the Association of Quebec Bar Members Abroad, and the Université de l’Ontario français. She is a co-editor and co-author of the loose-leaf textbook Electronic Documents: Records Management, e-Discovery and Trial. She co-chairs the E-Hearings Task Force which prepared the publication Best Practices for Remote Hearings. Prior to joining WeirFoulds, Marie-Andrée clerked for Mr. Justice Gonthier at the Supreme Court of Canada and received her LL.M. from Columbia University in New York. |
