Rich is Chair of O’Melveny & Myers LLP’s Antitrust and Competition Practice. He is both a trial lawyer and an antitrust regulatory lawyer, and his clients include Honeywell International, eBay, and Apple. Rich has represented clients in criminal, merger, government civil investigations, and civil actions with potential treble damages, including class action litigation. From 1999 to 2001, he served as Director of the Bureau of Competition at the FTC where he oversaw the investigations of the Exxon-Mobil, BP Amoco–ARCO, and AOL–Time Warner mergers. Rich was also co-lead counsel for the FTC in obtaining a federal court injunction against the mergers of Cardinal Health Corporation with Bergen Brunswick and McKesson Corporation with Amerisource Corporation. Chambers USA listed him in its 2011 Tier 1 ranking, highlighting his “formidable tenacity in litigation,” and the 2011 edition of Chambers Global noted that he is “renowned for being a phenomenal litigator.”
