Martin is a litigation partner with the Chicago office of Akerman LLP and co-chair of the firm’s Data Law Practice. He is a veteran trial lawyer with over 25 years of national experience in the fields of electronic discovery, information governance, and data security/data privacy. He is an active member of the Sedona Conference Working Group on Electronic Document Retention and Production (WG1), the Sedona Conference Working Group on Data Security and Privacy Liability (WG11), the 7th Circuit E-Discovery Pilot Program Committee, the ABA Section of Litigation, Privacy and Data Security Committee, and the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP). In addition, Martin has written and presented extensively on the subjects of e-discovery, information governance, cybersecurity, and legal technology; has been recognized by Chambers USA, Nationwide, for Litigation: E-Discovery; and was acknowledged by Who’s Who Legal.
