Marguerite S. Willis
Marguerite has been a member of Nexsen Pruet, LLC, since 2000. She previously practiced law at Howrey, LLP, in Washington, DC, where she became the first woman partner in 1981. Marguerite has also held two federal clerkships. She practices in both federal and state courts in the antitrust area, and she has substantial experience in litigating unfair trade practice cases under state law. Marguerite presently represents a major pharmaceutical company in a case filed by the South Carolina Attorney General under the South Carolina Unfair Trade Practices Act and in the parallel litigation challenging the constitutionality of the Attorney General’s contingent fee arrangement with outside counsel. She has served as out-of-state governor of The Florida Bar and president of the Women’s Bar Association of the District of Columbia. Marguerite presently serves as treasurer of the South Carolina Women Lawyers’ Association.
