The panel will lead a dialogue on the unique data security and privacy legal issues related to the current use of artificial intelligence (AI) by lawyers and businesses, including the legal and ethical concerns associated with AI. The dialogue leaders will seek member feedback regarding whether and how WG11 should go about drafting a Commentary related to this largely unregulated issue.

Panel Description: 

The roundtable will include representation from the U.S. Federal Trade Commission (FTC), the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), and the North Carolina Department of Justice. The dialogue leaders will address a range of topics, including recent enforcement regulations and actions, the current focus of agencies, inter-agency coordination, and proposed regulations. The dialogue will also address the interaction between government agencies and corporations regarding current data security and privacy best practices as well as how companies may permissibly collect, use, share, and dispose of personal and sensitive data.
