We are pleased to announce the opportunity to become more involved with The Sedona Conference Working Group 1 on Electronic Document Retention and Production (WG1). The WG1 Steering Committee is forming two new Brainstorming Groups for potential publications.
- Brainstorming Group on Practical Guidance for Discovery of Mobile Device Data
- Brainstorming Group on updating The Sedona Conference Commentary on Rule 34 and Rule 45 "Possession, Custody, or Control"
A detailed description of each brainstorming group and the required application process can be found here. Please note that the firm deadline for submitting an application to participate is December 9, 2022. When submitting your application, please identify the group for which you are applying. If you are interest in both groups, please indicate your order of preference.
WG1 members should also be on the lookout in the next several weeks for a separate Call for Volunteers for a drafting team to be formed in early 2023 on Conducting eDiscovery of Modern Communication and Collaboration Platforms. Drafting Teams are typically smaller than Brainstorming Groups and usually function over a longer period of time.
Important Note: If you are not currently a Working Group member but are interested in participating, you can sign up on the Sedona Conference website. Registered members are eligible to participate in activities of all Working Groups, including WG1. If you encounter any difficulties in registering or have questions about how to sign up for or renew your membership, please contact our office at [email protected] or (602) 258-4910.
