WG13 Webinar on Agentic AI and Potential Changes to the US and Canadian Rules of Evidence Addressing AI

The Sedona Conference Working Group 13 (AI and the Law) is excited to announce its first webinar, and it’s a Double-Header!

The first half of the webinar will focus on agentic AI. As AI systems become increasingly autonomous and capable of making decisions without direct human oversight, the legal and regulatory landscape will need to evolve rapidly to keep pace. This panel will unpack what “agentic” means in the context of AI and explore related issues such as emerging risks, governance structures, and accountability frameworks.

The second half of the webinar will focus on the newly proposed changes to evidentiary rules in the US and Canada. Following the Federal Advisory Committee’s decisive 8-1 vote on May 2 proposed FRE 707 will establish new evidentiary standards for machine-generated evidence. The US proposal will be contrasted with evidence rules changes suggested in Ontario.
