Hon. Conrad L. Rushing (ret.)

The Court of Appeal, Sixth Appellate District

Justice Rushing has spent nearly 40 years serving the public first as a Superior Court judge, then as a Justice of the Sixth District Court of Appeal. For the last 15 years, he has balanced his work as a Justice writing opinions with his role as the Court’s Administrative Presiding Justice. Justice Rushing has handled some of the most challenging cases in Santa Clara County, including the prosecution of Avant! Corporation and a number of its executives. Justice Rushing has taught seminars in law and literature at the University of Santa Clara Law School and has been a guest lecturer at the Stanford and Boalt Hall (UC Berkeley) Schools of Law. In 2016, he was named Appellate Justice of the Year by the Santa Clara County Bar Association. Justice Rushing earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from San Jose State University, and an LLB degree from the U.C. Berkeley Boalt Hall School of Law.
