Richard is a Forensic Partner and leader of Deloitte Discovery and Forensic Technology for Deloitte China. Most recently, he was appointed as the Global Leader of Deloitte Discovery. He has lived in China for the past 7 years, including 5 years as a resident of Beijing and Shanghai. Richard specializes in the use of technology to assist companies with compliance and regulatory issues, most specifically relating to fraud, corruption, breaches of the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA), litigation support and disputes. The focus of his work is the analysis of large data sets of both structured (SAP, Oracle Financial, JD Edward, Ufida, Kingdee) and unstructured data (email and other file systems). Richard’s role in China has provided him with a deep understanding of the cultural and business environment in China. Richard has significant experience working on cross-border data matters, most specifically as they relate to data privacy and protection laws in the Peoples Republic of China and Hong Kong. Richard has cumulative experience of 25 years in investigations, compliance and litigation work throughout Australia, Europe and Asia. He has worked on matters across numerous industries and sectors involving the financial services industry, life sciences, and resources industries.
