Hon. Barbara M.G. Lynn

U.S. District Court, Northern District of Texas

Prior to assuming the federal bench in 2000, Judge Lynn was a partner with Carrington, Coleman in Dallas. She was designated by the National Law Journal in 1998 as one of the 50 most influential women attorneys in the country. She served as chair of the ABA’s Section of Litigation and Judicial Division and received SMU’s Distinguished Alumni Award for private practice in 1999. Judge Lynn was the first recipient of the Louise Raggio award, given by the Dallas Women Lawyers Association for her contributions to the profession. In 2010, she was recognized by the International Women’s Forum with the Women Who Make A Difference Award. In 2011, an intellectual property American Inn of Court chapter was designated The Honorable Barbara M. G. Lynn American Inn of Court. Judge Lynn graduated first in her law school class at SMU. She is serving as a Judicial Advisor for The Sedona Conference’s Working Group 9 on Patent Damages and Remedies (WG9) and Working Group 10 on Patent Litigation Best Practices (WG10) Steering Committee. She received the State Bar’s Samuel Pessarra Outstanding Jurist Award in 2019. Judge Lynn is vice president of the American Inns of Court.
