Laura has been a partner at Portolano Cavallo since 2004. She has focused for more than 20 years on all legal issues concerning the internet and e-Commerce, personal data protection, consumer law, IT law, new technology, digital media, and contract law. Laura advises clients on all the complex legal issues concerning the internet and privacy: user-generated content, data scraping, social networks, cybersecurity, information governance, protection of databases, data mining, big data and predictive analysis of data. In the field of data protection, she works on profiling, cookies, big data, employee monitoring, whistleblowing hotlines, location-based services, and cross-border transfers of data. Laura speaks regularly at seminars and conferences on internet and data protection related matters, and she is the author of several articles in law reviews such as Data Protection Law & Policy, eHealth Law & Policy, and World Data Protection Report. Laura is ranked by Legal 500 in Data Privacy and Data Protection (Tier1 and Leading Individual) and by Chambers Europe 2021 in the TMT: Information Technology sector (Band 2). She has obtained the CIPP/E and CIPM certifications through the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP).
