Shari C Mauney

Shari is a civil litigation attorney in the general law areas of labor and employment law, ethics, and information and privacy (FOIA). She is currently an Assistant General Counsel in the Labor and Employment section of the Office of General Counsel at the General Services Administration in Washington, D.C. Prior to joining that office, she Mauney practiced with the Department of Defense, Defense Commissary Agency headquartered in Virginia, where she represented commissaries, worldwide, in the areas of employment law, appeals and FOIA/PA. Shari's career in federal service includes practice in the areas of labor and employment law, FOIA/Privacy Act, Indian law, education law, and tort defense. She has appeared in Federal District Courts as a Special Assistant U.S. Attorney, U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit, U.S. Bankruptcy Courts, Tax Court and multiple forums for administrative hearings. Shari began her career in a law firm in Washington, D.C., and clerked for the Honorable Judge Sarah Curley, U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Arizona. She has co-authored chapters in the Arizona State Bar’s Employment Law Handbook and is an active member of the employment and labor law section of the Arizona State Bar Association, the Federal Bar Association and the American Bar Association. She has a B.A. from Virginia Commonwealth University and a J.D. from Howard University School of Law, where she served as Technical Editor for the Howard University Law Journal.
