Judge Sheehan has served on the Cuyahoga Common Pleas Court since January 2008. He was elected to serve as the Administrative and Presiding Judge, effective January 2020.  Prior to assuming the bench, Judge Sheehan practiced as a civil and criminal litigator for 14 years.  Judge Sheehan earned his B.A. degree at Baldwin Wallace University, his J.D. degree at Cleveland-Marshall College of Law, and his Masters in Judicial Studies at the University of Nevada, Reno.
