Steven W. Teppler

Steven is a partner at the Abbott Law Group, P.A. in Jacksonville, Florida, and leads the firm’s electronic discovery and technology-related litigation practice. Steven is also an adjunct professor at Nova Southeastern University Law School, where he teaches Electronic Discovery and Information Governance. He is the co-chair of the Internet of Things Committee of the American Bar Association’s Science and Technology Section, co-chair of the eDiscovery and Digital Evidence Committee of the American Bar Association (2008-2015), chair of the Florida Bar Business Law Section’s Electronic Discovery Committee, past chair of the Florida Bar ProfessionalEthics Committee (2010- 2011), a member of the Seventh Circuit Electronic Discovery Pilot Program, and a co-author of the ANSI X9F4 financial industrytrusted timestamp standard. Steven is also Chair of the Florida Bar’s Business Law Section’s eDiscovery and Digital Evidence Committee, which provided substantial drafting input to the 2012 electronic discovery amendments to the Florida Rules of Civil Procedure. His most recent publications include: Testable Reliability: A Modernized Approach to Digital Evidence Admissibility (Ave Maria L. Rev., Fall 2014), and A Practitioner’s Guide to Electronic Discovery Under the Florida Rules of Civil Procedure, Florida Business Litigation Manual, 8th Edition (Spring 2014).
