Heejeong has served as Assistant Director of the International Cooperation Division, Personal Information Protection Commission of Korea since October 2019. In this role, she is responsible for matters concerning the protection of personal information related to cross-border data transfer in the Asia-Pacific region. She represents the PIPC abroad in the matters of the APEC Data Privacy Subgroup and the CBPR system. She is a professional civil servant since 2012. Previously she worked on international relations in the Seongbuk district of the Seoul metropolitan government for over 7 years.
