Katherine Booth
Katherine is a Litigation partner in the Vancouver office of McCarthy Tétrault LLP, a leading national law firm in Canada. Katherine advises companies that have experienced a data breach or cyber-attack and defends companies in class action litigation following a breach. In her incident response practice, Katherine oversees forensic investigations; advises on notice obligations and notice programs, litigation risk mitigation strategies and maintaining privilege; reports to insurers; and coordinates with regulatory lawyers regarding any regulatory investigations and compliance with privacy legislation. In her litigation practice, Katherine defends organizations in privacy and data breach, competition, conspiracy, product liability and consumer class actions. Katherine is a member of McCarthy Tétrault’s Cyber/Data Group and is a regular speaker on the topics of cybersecurity litigation and incident response. She is a contributing author to Defending Class Actions in Canada published by LexisNexis and is on the Executive of the Canadian Bar Association BC’s Class Actions Section |
