Candyce Phoenix


Candyce served as Senior Counsel and Senior Advisor to the House Select Committee to Investigate the January 6th Attack on the United States Capitol. She previously served as Impeachment Counsel for Congressman Jamie Raskin during the second impeachment of President Trump, and as Chairman Raskin’s Staff Director for the House Oversight Subcommittee on Civil Rights and Civil Liberties. In the latter role, she worked on oversight efforts regarding immigration, the rise of violent white supremacy, the 2020 Census, and eminent domain issues. Prior to moving to the Hill, Candyce worked in the Employment Litigation Section of the U.S. Department of Justice’s Civil Rights Division, and in the Solicitor’s Office at the Department of Labor. She has a degree in comparative ethnic studies from Columbia University, and a law degree from Harvard Law School.
