Jeffrey is a Senior E-Discovery and Privacy Attorney in the San Francisco office of Orrick, Herrington & Sutcliffe. He holds two certifications from the International Association of Privacy Professionals in both US and European privacy law (CIPP/US and CIPP/E), and has significant experience advising large organizations on privacy and discovery issues, including those related to cross-border investigations, international discovery, CCPA, GDPR, HIPAA, the HITECH Act, state specific privacy laws, and other international data protection and state secrets issues. Jeffrey has advised clients in all stages of discovery and assisted in proactive E-Discovery and data privacy planning. His litigation experience includes civil litigation in state and federal courts, including post-trial motions and appeals of discovery-related privacy issues. Jeffrey’s responsibilities include retaining and supervising outside vendors who will handle sensitive data, including reviewing the terms of their service agreements to ensure compliance with appropriate privacy and security requirements. He has also supervised efforts to enhance data security at discovery vendors and within Orrick itself. Jeffrey has spoken at numerous conferences on the issues of data privacy and eDiscovery management. He is a member of The Sedona Conference Working Groups 1, 6 and 11.
