Jeremy Pickens is Managing Director - Applied Science at Elevate, where he leads Elevate’s work providing customers with innovative information solutions that incorporate the latest advances in machine learning, information retrieval, natural language processing, human-computer interface design, and related areas of computer science and artificial intelligence. In addition to directing research and development projects, Jeremy collaborates with Elevate’s Data and AI Consulting team to apply TAR and other advanced technologies to address customers’ legal, regulatory, and information management needs.,​ 
Before Elevate, Jeremy was the Head of Applied Science at Redgrave Data and Chief Data Scientist at Conga. He also led the creation of advanced TAR and review technologies at OpenText and Catalyst Repository Systems after starting in the industry as a researcher at FX Palo Alto Labs. An established innovator in the field, Jeremy has eleven issued or pending patents in search and information retrieval and has published and spoken widely in both academic and legal technology contexts on eDiscovery, its supporting technologies, and their scientific foundations.​ 
Jeremy graduated from Brigham Young University with a B.S. in computer science and international relations. He received his PhD in computer science from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst, and conducted post-doctoral work in music information retrieval at King’s College, London.​
