Julia is executive managing director and general counsel of H5, which 15 years ago pioneered the use of computer scientists, statisticians, computer technologists, and proprietary software to perform technology assisted review to meet the needs of litigators and compliance professionals. She began her legal career as a litigator at Davis Polk and Wardwell before becoming deputy general counsel of Philip Morris USA and associate general counsel at Altria. Today, in addition to her role at H5, Julia teaches Technology and the Law in Columbia University's Executive Masters of Science in Technology Management. She is a frequent speaker on methods of evaluating and addressing the strategic challenges and risks posed to companies by the explosion of electronically stored information. She also speaks and writes to advance awareness and professionalism in the age of expanding use of artificial intelligence in both legal practice and business.
