William has practiced at the intersection of law and technology since the late 1980’s. His practice focus is Information Governance, from information protection and privacy on the one hand to litigation readiness and eDiscovery on the other. Representative matters include data protection and privacy counseling, GDPR and CCPA readiness assessments, security incident and data breach counseling and eDiscovery advice for litigation and investigations. He is a frequent writer and speaker on privacy, data security and electronic discovery topics, having contributed to SC Magazine, The Recorder, Corporate Counsel Magazine, LegalTech News, TechnoLawyer, and BusinessWeek. William is a certified Information Privacy Professional, US (CIPP/US). He is a member of the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP), the California State Bar Law Practice & Technology and Privacy & Data Security Sections, the International Legal Technology Association, the Bay Area chapter of InfraGard and the San Francisco Electronic Crimes Task Force. |
