David is a partner in the Intellectual Property practice of Pillsbury Winthrop Shaw Pittman, and currently serves as the head of the Silicon Valley IP Group. He has over 25 years of experience in litigating IP related matters. In addition to being lead counsel on significant patent, trade secret, and licensing disputes, he also advises clients on strategic IP licensing and transactional issues, particularly in the context of corporate finance, mergers & acquisitions, and investments, as well as on strategic portfolio development. With a diverse skillset that includes deep knowledge and experience in civil procedure, evidence, discovery and trial, and USPTO procedures such as IPRs and Inter Partes Reexaminations, as well as a background in technology (BSEE), licensing, and general IP focused corporate representation, David brings to the table a unique combination of talents when litigating IP disputes and when providing strategic IP advice and recommendations.
