Frank-Erich Hufnagel
Frank-Erich has been a partner with the international law firm Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer since 2000. Within his firm, he leads the patent litigation team in Düsseldorf, Germany. He has an extensive track record in patent litigation and enforcement, acting for a wide range of national and international, particularly U.S. clients before the specialized patent courts in Germany. In addition to pharmaceutical-related cases, the focus of his work includes technology patents. Most recently, he has been lead counsel in a number of cases involving standard-essential patents and their enforcement in Europe. Frank-Erich was educated at the universities of Bonn, Germany and Geneva, Switzerland. He holds an LL.M. degree from Cambridge, UK, and was awarded his doctorate (Dr. jur.) at Bonn University in 1995. Frank-Erich serves as Co-Chairman on the Patent Law Committee of the German Intellectual Property Association (GRUR), and is a regular speaker on conferences dedicated to IP related topics, focusing on patent and technology licensing law. |
