Patent Litigation XII

Del Mar

The Twelfth annual Sedona Conference® on Patent Litigation again features a stellar faculty, including the Director of the USPTO, a judge from the CAFC, a 3rd Circuit judge, a Magistrate Judge from the ED of Texas, in-house counsel from Google and Bristol-Myers Squibb, and nationally renowned trial attorneys and patent counsel from coast to coast.
The rapid change in many areas of patent law that has marked the past year is the focus of the 2011 conference. The U.S. Supreme Court and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit have handed down many seminal decisions that have changed the patent enforcement and monetization landscapes and significantly altered the decision-making matrix. A new patent litigation pilot project has commenced. In true Sedona tradition, a deep dive dialogue will take place on the most important areas of change and development while we examine what has happened and address the trends, discrepancies and best practices for the future. A full, balanced, and robust discussion will be led by a faculty selected to bring all viewpoints to the following topics:
(1) Supreme Court & Federal Circuit Case Law Update;
(2) Joint/Contributory Infringement;
(3) Inequitable Conduct;
(4) Patent Reform;
(5) Strategic Use of Re-examination and Re-Issue;
(6) Patent Litigation Case Management;
(7) Patent Damages & Remedies; and
(8) Settlements, License Agreements & Damages.
