Working Group 1 Virtual Town Hall on ESI Protocols

Date:
Wednesday, December 9, 2020 - 4:00pm to 5:30pm

Time: 4 to 5:30 p.m. EST

Location: Online (Zoom)

The Sedona Conference invites all Working Group Series members to join us for our third in a series of free Virtual Town Hall meetings, aimed at continuing our tradition of crafting the next generation of eDiscovery thought leadership through dialogue and consensus building.

December’s program will focus on a discussion of ESI protocols.

Cooperative protocols addressing the discovery of electronically stored information (ESI) are often key to a successful eDiscovery process. ESI protocols can help litigants proactively avoid disputes, reduce costs, and conduct early case assessments. But ESI protocols may not be appropriate for every matter. Moreover, ESI protocols have sometimes had the opposite effect, bogging down the discovery process with discovery disputes, motion practice, increased litigation costs, and delays.

In this Town Hall, our seasoned dialogue leaders will explore key provisions that parties may encounter or wish to consider including—or perhaps avoid—in ESI protocols to more effectively address discovery issues. The audience will then have an opportunity to discuss and brainstorm on the topic both collectively and in smaller breakout sessions. Takeaways and action items will be noted and shared with all to inform the ongoing mission of WG1 and guide its future publication projects.

Participation is free, but prior registration is required. Registrants will receive a Zoom invitation and instructions a day before the event.
