The Sedona Conference WG9 and WG10 Joint Annual Meeting 2022

Location: The Offices of WilmerHale in Boston, Massachusetts (In-Person) and Online (Zoom)

Registration is open for the Sedona Conference WG9 and WG10 Joint Annual Meeting 2022 at The Offices of WilmerHale in Boston, Massachusetts on Monday-Tuesday, June 6-7, 2022. A welcome reception will be held in the evening of Sunday, June 5, from 6:30-8:30 pm.

Online meeting attendance (via Zoom) will also be available.

The primary focus of this Meeting will be for our numerous current WG9/10 drafting teams to lead a document-based dialogue to obtain member comment and advance the following draft commentaries toward publication for public comment:

   A.)   U.S. Patent Litigation:

  • Unified Framework for Analysis of Section 101 Patent Eligibility Determinations

  • Streamlining Lower-Value Patent Cases

  • The Evolving Relationship Between Federal Courts and Administrative Agencies

  • Case Management of Patent Damages and Remedies Issues

B.)   Global Patent Litigation:

  • Guidelines for the Efficient Resolution of Disputes before the Forthcoming Unified Patent Court

  • Framework for Analysis for Strategic and Tactical Considerations in Selecting Venues for Global Patent Litigation

  • Cross-Border Discovery in U.S. Patent and Trade Secrets Cases

  • SEP/FRAND Licensing and Royalty Issues - “Global Edition”

Kathi Vidal, the new Under Secretary of Commerce for Intellectual Property and Director of the United States Patent and Trademark Office, has also graciously agreed to be interviewed on the second day of the meeting, Tuesday, June 7 at 9:45-10 AM EDT.

We will close the Conference with a Judicial Roundtable, comprising some of our Judicial Advisors who have graciously and generously participated in our WG9/10 efforts to date.

Also, In order to attend the meeting in-person or online, you will need to be a current member of WG9 or WG10. Please become a member by signing up for a Working Group Series (WGS) membership. Once a WGS member, one is eligible to become a member and take part in the activities of all Working Groups, including WG9 and WG10.
